Welcome Message
Aloha!
On behalf of the organizing committee, we are delighted to welcome you to the 24th International Conference for Media in Education (ICoME 2026), to be held August 6–8, 2026, at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
This year’s theme, “Learning with Purpose: Building Futures Through Care, Connection, and Innovation,” reflects our shared commitment to human-centered approaches to educational technology. ICoME 2026 is a landmark collaborative effort among KAEIM (Korea), JAEMS (Japan), CAET (China), and TCC Hawaiʻi, in partnership with the International Council for Educational Media (ICEM).
Hosted by TCC Hawaii and the Department of Learning Design and Technology (LTEC), the conference will bring together approximately 100–150 scholars and graduate students from Asia, the Americas, Europe, and beyond. Whether you are presenting innovative research or engaging with emerging ideas, ICoME 2026 offers a vibrant space for international exchange, collaboration, and professional growth in the heart of the Pacific.
The conference will take place in the scenic Mānoa Valley, just minutes from Waikīkī Beach and the Ala Moana Center. Participants may choose convenient on-campus accommodations at the East-West Center or select from a range of nearby hotels in Waikīkī. We invite you to join us this August to experience our dynamic academic community and the warm hospitality of the Hawaiian Islands.
We look forward to welcoming you to Honolulu! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Background
The International Conference for Media in Education (ICoME) is a long-standing academic conference jointly organized by the Korean Association for Educational Information and Media (KAEIM), the Japan Association for Educational Media Study (JAEMS), the Chinese Association for Educational Technology (CAET), and the Teaching, Colleges, and Community (TCC) consortium in the United States.
Celebrating its 24th annual gathering in 2026, ICoME has evolved into a key platform for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in the design and use of media for learning. The conference brings together researchers, educators, graduate students, and practitioners in educational media and technology to share research findings, showcase practices, and explore emerging trends.
